Two families can perform the same named samskara with a different order, language, customary exchange or associated puja. A responsible priest first asks what tradition the family follows.
Vedic and Agamic roles
Some temple ceremonies are governed by specific Agamic traditions while many family samskaras follow Vedic or Smarta prayogas. A website should not flatten those distinctions.
Regional culture matters
Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Tulu, Marathi and other communities can retain beautiful family customs alongside the Vedic core of a rite.

The ceremony guides explain traditional purpose and preparation while repeatedly noting where practice varies. They are not presented as the only valid procedure.
When to ask
If a family has a custom that matters to parents or grandparents, mention it early. It is much easier to plan respectfully than to discover the difference during the ceremony.
